"Saio ga Uma" - 塞翁が馬

We say in Japanese, "Saio ga Uma."
That is...........,
He was an old man who domesticated a horse in ancient China, maybe.
Most of characters, maxims, cultures and so on are to come from China in Japan and Japanese.
First, his horse disappeared and he disappointed extremely.
Second, the horse came back to him with its friend horse which could run so fast and the old man rejoiced a lot.
Third, his grand son played on the horse but he dropped from the hose and it broke his bones.
However it rejected the military draft of his grand son's. There were many wars and causalities at that time.
So the old man, Saio rejoiced again. He didn't lost his grand son at the war.
We say in China and Japan, we can forecast nothing in life and negative things change to positive, happy things.

どんな雲にも銀の裏地がついている＝どんな不幸や災難にも良い面があるから一概には決められない。「塞翁が馬」は、幸不幸が繰り返されて、人間の運命のはかり知れないことを言っているので、この英語の諺だと、物足りない。

｢人間万事塞翁が馬｣: 幸福や不幸は予想のしようがないことのたとえ。
Joy and sorrow are today and tomorrow.（楽しみと悲しみは今日と明日。）
